The Department of History is one of the oldest in Samara State University of Social Sciences and Education. Here students are taught to become effective professionals in the fields of law, history, and international relations. The department hosts military-historical, psychology-pedagogical, history of everyday life, and archaeology clubs.
- History and Social Science
The degree programme is aimed at studying a wide range of liberal arts with considerable emphasis on pedagogy, history, and social science. The course graduates are qualified to work at schools, colleges, in city administration, mass media, social and cultural spheres.
Students take up courses in pedagogy, liberal arts, civil law, labour law, and others. Together with working at educational institutions, after finishing the programme graduates can easily find a job of a lawyer.
- International Relations
The degree programme is designed to introduce students to the basics of international policy. Students who graduate from the course are experts in international issues and can be employed in mass media and city administration as well as in schools and colleges.
- Social and Political History of the XVIII-XX Centuries
The Master’s programme provides advanced knowledge in history of the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. Students acquire information about the development of society with particular emphasis on social and political aspects.
