For International Students

At Samara State Academy of Social Sciences and Humanities, international students can choose to study either as guest or exchange students for one or two semesters, or as degree students pursuing a degree from the Academy.

Guest Students are students from other universities with no cooperation agreement with Samara State Academy of Social Sciences and Humanities. The International Department at your home academy can supply information on whether your academy has an agreement with SSASSH.

Exchange Students are students eligible for admission to Samara State Academy of Social Sciences and Humanities if their home academy has a bilateral exchange agreement with SSASSH.

Degree Students are students wishing to pursue a degree from Samara State Academy of Social Sciences and Humanities.

In general the language of instruction at SSASSH is Russian and if you know the Russian language you are welcome to join courses or degree programmes taught in Russian.

If you are interested in studying at our Academy but your level of Russian is not good enough you are welcome to join our Russian Language Center which provides a variety of courses for international students.

Russian Language Center for Foreign Students

Russian Language Center for Foreign Students is part of Samara State Academy of Social Sciences and Humanities. We offer our students a variety of intensive (24 academic hours a week) courses (six weeks, eleven weeks and seventeen weeks long), being taught at three major levels of advancement. We also organize a one-year preparatory course for foreigners who wish to study in Russia. Since 2002 students from Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Egypt, Mexico and Nigeria have enjoyed studying Russian here.

The programme offering is tailored to meet all the needs of our students. All of our lecturers are full time faculty at Samara State Academy of Social Sciences and Humanities Foreign Languages Chair and have intensive experience teaching Russian as a foreign language. They are well prepared pedagogically to work with ethnically and culturally diverse student groups. All of our lectures have a strong command of at least one foreign language (English, German or French). Teaching is based on a communicative approach to language learning.

Our goal is that the courses offered conducted by the Center staff not only promote the Russian language and culture, but also become the place of encounters, exchange of experience, views and opinions, establishing contacts and making friends among students.
